On March 12, 2025, Congressman Lawler highlighted the robust economic relationship between the United States and Ireland. He noted that "The US-Ireland economic relationship exceeds $1 trillion and supports hundreds of thousands of jobs in both countries." He emphasized Ireland's significant role as a foreign investor in the United States, ranking sixth worldwide with a growth of 34% in 2024.
In another tweet on the same day, Lawler expressed his support for regulatory reform under a new administration focused on fostering investment and innovation. He stated that "With a new administration focused on eliminating burdensome regulations that stifle investment and innovation, I was happy to declare that America is open for business." He encouraged further investment particularly in the Hudson Valley region.
Additionally, Congressman Lawler addressed immigration policy by advocating for an expansion of the E-3 visa program to include Irish citizens seeking employment opportunities in the United States. In his words, "I also discussed my support for expanding the E-3 visa program to include Irish citizens looking to work in the United States." This initiative aims to utilize unused visa slots each year while continuing a historical pattern of Irish immigration.
