Senator Rob Rolison, representing the 39th District, commented on Marist College's decision to change its name to Marist University. The institution, located in Poughkeepsie, will adopt the new name in January.

"This is exciting news for the Marist community, Poughkeepsie, and our greater Hudson Valley region," stated Senator Rolison. He expressed his enthusiasm as a former student and current state senator dedicated to promoting education in New York. "I am thrilled to see Marist's designation evolve, reflecting the school's range of course offerings and its leading position within the global marketplace of ideas."

The official name change event is scheduled for January 29. Senator Rolison looks forward to attending and continuing his collaboration with Marist faculty and students.
