Following today's announcement that the Castle Point VA Medical Center will not be closing, as was previously proposed, County Executive Marc Molinaro has issued the following statement:
“Today’s announcement that the federal government will not close the Castle Point VA Medical Center follows months of advocacy by myself and countless Dutchess County veterans, fighting to keep this vital asset open for America’s heroes who depend on its life-saving services. On behalf of Dutchess County’s veterans and their families, I thank the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee for hearing our passionate pleas to reject the Asset and Infrastructure Review Commission’s proposal to abandon our local heroes and the Castle Point facility that serves them. We will continue to defend our veterans to ensure they always receive the benefits they have rightly earned through their service to our nation.”
