ARSON ARREST LEADS TO CONVICTION AND SENTENCING
Sheriff Kirk A. Imperati said, “The conviction in this arson case highlights the strong partnerships that exist within Dutchess County. Fire Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division worked closely with the New York State Police and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office to obtain justice for those who suffered losses as a result of the large fire at the Village at Merritt Park apartments in Fishkill on April 18, 2021. Our model in Dutchess County incorporates fire service, law enforcement and prosecution to effectively investigate, arrest and prosecute arsonists and hold them accountable for their crimes.”
