Lawler, a former member of the New York State Assembly, has served in Congress since 2023, succeeding Mondaire Jones. Residing in Pearl River, he actively advocates for educational initiatives, tax reform, and community engagement.

Lawler expressed gratitude for his team's participation at the 100 Hispanic Women Rockland 3rd Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance. Highlighting his consistent support for young women's education, Lawler stated, "Proud to have my team represent me at the 100 Hispanic Women Rockland 3rd Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance!" His team attended the event on March 28, 2025.

On the same day, Lawler addressed the potential expiration of the 2017 tax cuts. He described its potential expiration as significant and detrimental, urging legislative action to prevent it. Lawler tweeted, "If the 2017 tax cuts expire, it will be the largest tax hike in U.S. history, hurting families in NY & across the country."

Furthermore, Lawler shared about a meeting with students from Yeshiva University's YUPAC group on March 27, 2025. He appreciated their acknowledgment of his legislative contributions by tweeting, "Yesterday, students from Yeshiva University's YUPAC group stopped by my office." He expressed optimism about the positive impact of the advocated reforms.
