Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district, has recently shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Lawler, who took office in 2023 after serving in the New York State Assembly, is known for his active engagement with both local and national matters.

On March 11, 2025, Congressman Lawler addressed the need for clarity regarding former Governor Cuomo's nursing home directive from March 25th. He stated, "On Friday, I joined 710WOR's @LarryMendte to call on CMS & CDC for clarity on Cuomo's March 25th nursing home directive. This isn’t about politics, this is about getting answers. Thousands of seniors lost their lives and it’s time for accountability."

Later that day, he expressed his enthusiasm for youth innovation at a local event. He tweeted, "It was another great year attending the robotics competition at Rockland Community College – these kids have such incredible talent and creativity! Their passion is inspiring, and it’s always amazing to see the innovation from our next generation of STEM leaders."

In a more somber note posted on the same day, Lawler extended condolences to a grieving community. He wrote, "I send my heartfelt condolences to the Gentile family and the entire Mount Pleasant community on the passing of Gia Gentile. Her kindness and spirit left a lasting impact, and she will be deeply missed. May her memory be a blessing."
