Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, has recently expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets. Lawler, who succeeded Mondaire Jones in Congress and previously served in the New York State Assembly, shared his thoughts on congestion pricing, education funding, and tax relief.

On January 30, 2025, Congressman Lawler voiced his approval of President Trump's consideration to halt congestion pricing. He stated: "I'm glad to see that President Trump is seriously considering halting the congestion pricing cash grab - it hurts many hardworking New Yorkers, and should be stopped!"

Later that day, he commented on New York's education spending and performance. In his tweet from January 30, 2025, he noted: "New York keeps throwing money at schools - $36,293 per student, to be exact - yet we're stuck at or below average on national test scores. Enrollment is dropping, and charter schools are growing, but Albany's too busy playing politics to fix anything."

On January 31, 2025, Congressman Lawler addressed the issue of state and local tax (SALT) deductions. He emphasized the need for collaboration in his tweet: "We will all have to work together to find a compromise on SALT - we will lift the cap and negotiate in good faith to deliver real tax relief to all Americans."
