Legislation proposed by Mike Lawler honors Auschwitz liberation anniversary

Congressman Mike Lawler, currently representing New York's 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has been actively engaging with legislative initiatives and community interactions. His recent communications on social media reflect his commitment to these roles.

On January 28, 2025, Congressman Lawler shared that he had introduced legislation aimed at recognizing the "80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau" and emphasized the need for continued efforts by the United States to combat antisemitism both domestically and internationally. "Yesterday, I introduced legislation to recognize the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and demanding the United States continue to work to combat antisemitism here at home and abroad."

Later that day, Lawler expressed his gratitude after speaking with students at Tappan Zee High School over a recent weekend. He thanked attendees and highlighted notable speakers such as Chief Justice Rowan Wilson, State Senator Bill Weber, and Supervisor Teresa Kenny. Additionally, Congressman Lawler acknowledged National School Choice Week by celebrating diverse educational opportunities available in Hudson Valley. He commended public, private, and religious schools for their role in providing quality education options for future generations. "The Hudson Valley is lucky to be home to many fantastic public, private, and religious schools... This National School Choice Week we celebrate all of these options."
