Congressman Mike Lawler comments on community recognition and legal proceedings

Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, has recently shared his thoughts and activities through a series of tweets. Lawler, who succeeded Mondaire Jones in Congress and previously served in the New York State Assembly, attended a significant local event and commented on a high-profile legal case.

On December 8, 2024, Congressman Lawler tweeted about attending the Rockland District Attorney’s breakfast where an award was presented to the mother of Welles Remy Crowther. Crowther is remembered as the "man with the red bandana," who lost his life while saving others during the events of September 11. The tweet highlighted: "On Friday, my office attended the Rockland District Attorney’s breakfast, where an award was presented to the mother of Welles Remy Crowther, the heroic Rockland resident known as the 'man with the red bandana,' who gave his life saving countless others on 9/11."

The following day, December 9, 2024, Lawler expressed his views on social media regarding a jury decision in a prominent legal case involving Daniel Penny. He stated: "The jury in the Daniel Penny case righted a terrible wrong today. Daniel Penny is a war hero who sought to protect strangers. Alvin Bragg prosecuted him for sheer politics. Alvin Bragg is a disgrace and should be fired from his post immediately." This statement reflects Lawler's strong opinion on both Penny's actions and Alvin Bragg's role in prosecuting him.

Additionally, Lawler provided further information related to this topic by sharing another link for more details: "Full statement here:"
