Kent recently issued the following announcement.
Alright, so we're starting to get a lot of questions about basketball, so we just wanted to send out a little update...
As of now basketball games are not allowed to be played in New York State. It is considered a "high risk activity" with respect to Covid-19, and as per the Governor's office only non-contact, individual skills practices are allowable. We also do not have access to the Carmel School Gyms as of now (a decision we totally understand and agree with).
Should things remain as they are with respect to Covid-19, we plan on exploring the use of other facilities to run some small clinics like we're doing for soccer and of course will let everyone know if and when those plans come to fruition. At this point we view it as very unlikely that basketball games will be able to be played anywhere in the state this year, however if things do take a turn for the better we will be prepared, you have our word!
In the mean time, let's continue to enjoy all the fun stuff this fall (we're adding more events to our schedule so stay tuned), and with respect to the future we want you all to know that even if we can't play basketball this winter, we have every intention of being back out on the baseball and softball fields for a season this coming spring (more info to come later in the year)!
Thanks in advance for understanding everyone and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out!
