Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, has expressed concerns about congestion pricing in New York City through a series of tweets. The Congressman previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022 and resides in Pearl River, New York.

On November 19, 2024, Congressman Lawler highlighted his apprehensions regarding congestion pricing's impact on certain neighborhoods in New York City. He stated that "Congestion pricing is going to hit New York City neighborhoods with among the highest vacancy rates the hardest. These businesses are barely getting by as is. Charging their employees and customers thousands in new tolls a year adds insult to injury."
