Congressman Mike Lawler, currently representing New York’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Lawler, who took office in 2023 after replacing Mondaire Jones and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022, addressed topics ranging from voting rights to international relations and local policies.

On February 10, 2025, Congressman Lawler criticized an initiative by New York City Democrats concerning voting rights. He stated: "It's really pretty simple. If you're a citizen, you can vote! If you're not a citizen, you can't vote. Why on Earth would New York City Democrats try to change that?"

In another tweet dated February 11, 2025, Lawler commented on the Middle East peace process. He emphasized the need for action from the Palestinian Authority by stating: "If we're ever going to achieve peace in the Middle East, it starts with the Palestinian Authority actually ending the horrific practice of pay-to-slay terrorism and committing to de-radicalization of its population."

Later that day, Congressman Lawler turned his attention to local matters affecting New Yorkers. Criticizing congestion pricing plans and subsequent scams associated with them, he tweeted: "First, Kathy Hochul and Janno Lieber pushed a disastrous congestion pricing scheme on hardworking New Yorkers—now scammers are exploiting it to rip people off. This absurd cash grab has got to stop."
