Congressman Mike Lawler, currently serving New York's 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has shared several statements on his social media platform addressing international relations and educational reform. His comments touch upon critical geopolitical issues and domestic policies concerning education funding.

On February 7, 2025, Congressman Lawler criticized the Biden Administration's handling of Iran’s oil trade, which he claims funded terrorism across the Middle East. He expressed approval for actions taken by former President Trump in this regard. "The Biden Administration let Iran’s illicit oil trade thrive, which funded terrorism across the Middle East. I fought to crack down on it and am glad to see action finally being taken by President Trump on this front."

Later that day, Congressman Lawler participated in a meeting with Speaker Johnson and Prime Minister Netanyahu. He emphasized the strong alliance between the United States and Israel, underscoring their commitment to mutual support in regional matters. "I was honored to join Speaker Johnson and Congressional leaders for today's meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu. The U.S.-Israel alliance is unshakable, and we stand firmly with our greatest ally in the Middle East."

In a subsequent post on February 8, 2025, Lawler addressed financial practices at wealthy universities through legislative action. He reintroduced the Endowment Accountability Act aimed at ensuring these institutions utilize their endowments to reduce tuition costs and increase financial aid availability or face tax penalties otherwise. "Wealthy universities should be investing in students, not hoarding billions. Today, I reintroduced the Endowment Accountability Act to ensure they use their endowments to lower tuition and expand financial aid—or pay their fair share."
