Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, shared his insights on recent events through a series of tweets. Lawler, who succeeded Mondaire Jones in Congress and previously served in the New York State Assembly, discussed topics ranging from substance use disorder prevention to international security concerns.

On February 6, 2025, Congressman Lawler participated in CADCA’s Plenary Panel on substance use disorder prevention. He expressed his appreciation for the discussion with advocates and experts, highlighting the work being done by New York's coalitions. He stated: "It was a great discussion at CADCA’s Plenary Panel on substance use disorder prevention. Glad to hear from advocates and experts – New York’s coalitions are doing important work, and I’m proud to support them in their efforts."

Later that day, Lawler addressed the issue of Iran's nuclear capabilities. He emphasized the threat posed by a nuclear-armed Iran to Israel and global security. Collaborating with Senators Graham, Fetterman, Britt, and Representative Moskowitz, he conveyed a strong stance against Iran's actions: "A nuclear-armed Iran is a threat to Israel and the world. We must keep all options on the table to address this crisis. Proud to work with Senators Graham, Fetterman, and Britt, as well as Rep. Moskowitz, to send a clear message to Iran about the consequences of their actions."
