Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, recently addressed issues of antisemitism on college campuses through a series of tweets. Lawler, who succeeded Mondaire Jones and previously served in the New York State Assembly, has taken to social media to engage with constituents on this critical matter.

On February 5, 2025, Lawler posted a tweet asking for public input regarding antisemitism in educational institutions. He invited individuals who have witnessed or experienced such incidents to participate in a survey. The tweet stated: "Have you or someone you know witnessed or experienced antisemitism on a college or university campus? Please take my survey and let me know."

Another tweet by Congressman Lawler from the same day provided a link without any accompanying text: "https://t.co/hCzH5xY1HY" This post appears to direct users to additional resources related to his previous message.

Later that day, Lawler expressed concern about institutional failures regarding federal law and student protection against antisemitism. In his tweet, he emphasized legislative efforts aimed at addressing these issues: "Colleges and universities have repeatedly failed to uphold federal law and protect Jewish students. The Antisemitism Awareness Act makes it clear: antisemitism will not be tolerated—on campus or anywhere else."
