Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting his engagements and reflections on various events. Lawler, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Mondaire Jones, also previously served in the New York State Assembly. Born in Suffern, New York, in 1986, he currently resides in Pearl River and is an alumnus of Manhattan College.

On January 26, 2025, Congressman Lawler expressed his gratitude towards local firefighters by stating "It was an honor to join the Stony Point Fire Department at their 13th Annual Chiefs Dinner and thank these heroes for their dedicated service to the North Rockland community."

Later that day, he acknowledged India's Republic Day with a message celebrating its democratic journey and the Indian-American community in his district: "75 years ago, India adopted its constitution and began its pathway to becoming the world's largest democracy. Today and every day, I'm proud to represent our large Indian-American community here in the Hudson Valley. Happy India Republic Day!"

On January 27, 2025, Lawler paid tribute to Al Magnatta during his centennial birthday celebration. He remarked on Magnatta's exemplary life of service as both a World War II veteran and long-serving volunteer firefighter: "Al Magnatta is a living legend. A World War 2 veteran and volunteer firefighter for almost 80 years, he's a shining example of what America is about - service and honor. I was honored to present him with a Congressional Record this morning at his 100th birthday party."
