Assemblyman Matt Slater was sworn in for his second term at the Putnam County Courthouse. Representing the 94th Assembly District since 2022, Slater will return to Albany on January 6 to begin the legislative session.
Reflecting on his first term, Slater expressed gratitude for constituent support and outlined his focus for the upcoming year. “As someone who has called Yorktown home my entire life, I’m deeply honored by the trust the people of the Hudson Valley have placed in me to represent them," he said. "Today’s ceremony was a wonderful celebration of our community and a reminder of the important work ahead.”
Slater's first term achievements include securing over $30 million for infrastructure projects and passing significant legislation such as the Detective Brian Simonsen Bill. His district office also resolved more than 1,000 constituent cases.
“It was a privilege to take the oath of office alongside so many dedicated public servants," Slater stated. "I am reinvigorated and excited to return to Albany to focus on affordability, opportunity and public safety.”
