Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino has announced the appointment of A. Gregg Pulver as Assistant County Executive. Pulver, a resident of Dutchess County with extensive experience in public service and agriculture, will bring his expertise to this new role.

Pulver has a strong background in public service, having served as County Comptroller where he focused on fiscal responsibility through audits and financial oversight. His previous roles include five terms as County Legislator, six years as Legislature Chairman, Town Supervisor of Pine Plains for 12 years, and Vice President for the Pine Plains School District Board of Education. He was also involved with the Pine Plains Planning Committee and other local boards.

In his new position, Pulver will assist in managing county operations and policies while serving as a liaison between the County Executive’s Office and the Dutchess County Legislature. His responsibilities will include oversight of various county departments.

Beyond public service, Pulver is known for his work in agriculture. As owner of Pulver Farm in Pine Plains, he has advocated for agricultural sustainability and farmland preservation. He has contributed to crafting laws supporting local farmers and preserving Dutchess County's agricultural heritage.

Pulver's community involvement includes leadership roles at Dutchess Community College Board of Trustees and Mashomack Foundation. He is also a long-time member of the Pine Plains Hose Company and participates in organizations like the Lion Club and Future Farmers of America.

Pulver will begin his role on January 1, 2025, following the retirement of current Assistant County Executive Chris Baiano early next year. The two will collaborate during the transition period to ensure continuity.
