Later that day, he expressed support for pro-democracy activists by stating "We stand in solidarity with Hong Kong's pro-democracy activists and all who are imprisoned by authoritarian regimes because of their beliefs. They are on the right side of history."
On November 20, Lawler took a moment to honor a Vietnam War hero by sharing that "Yesterday, I took to the House floor to honor Vietnam War hero and Purple Heart recipient Jeremy Honey, who gave a lifetime of service to our country, our community, and his fellow veterans. He will be greatly missed."
