The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced the completion of two bridge replacements on Salt Point Turnpike (CR-17) in Stanford. The bridges are now open to traffic.

The project, which began in the spring, involved replacing steel-deck structures over Willow Brook and Wappinger Creek near Meadowview Way with wider reinforced concrete structures featuring four-foot shoulders. Additionally, the bridge nearest to State Route 82 was elevated by approximately 2.5 feet to mitigate flooding risks and prevent potential damage from increasingly severe storms. The work was finished on schedule and within budget.

This section of Salt Point Turnpike sees an average daily traffic volume of about 919 vehicles.
