Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) has been appointed by Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) to assist in the Joint Budget Conference, as reported on March 18, 2024. With final budget negotiations commencing, Slater, a member of the Education Committee, will work alongside his colleagues to restore fiscal responsibility to the current budget proposals.
"I am honored to be appointed by Leader Barclay and look forward to remaining vigilant and ensuring our schools receive the proper funding they deserve. As lawmakers, it is our responsibility to keep conversations flowing in the proper direction and reach a consensus that backs what our constituents ask for," said Slater.
