Dutchess County Government - The National Suicide Prevention Crisis Hotline, 9-8-8 is Currently Unavailable Nationwide and the Problem is Being Addressed

The national suicide prevention crisis hotline, 9-8-8 is currently unavailable nationwide and the problem is being addressed. 

You can always call or text our HELPLINE at 845-485-9700, where you will reach local crisis counselors who are well-trained and experienced in responding to a wide range of mental health, substance use, and suicidal crises. You can also use the Dutchess County HELPLINE app to have these services right at your fingertips.

In addition, our Stabilization Center provides 24/7 crisis help and our Empowerment Center has care for those struggling with substance abuse disorder M-F 9a-4p. Both are located at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie.
