Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York's 17th district since 2023, has expressed concerns on various issues through his recent tweets. The congressman, who previously served in the New York State Assembly, raised questions about infrastructure funding and educational standards while also engaging with constituents on border security measures.

On January 30, 2025, Congressman Lawler questioned the allocation of federal infrastructure funds in a tweet. He asked "Where did $100 billion in federal infrastructure funding go? While Governor Hochul pushes for congestion pricing to fund the MTA, our state’s transportation infrastructure is still falling apart."

Later that day, he invited public opinion on border security through a survey. He tweeted at 16:33 UTC: "Do you support stronger border security measures to prevent illegal immigration and protect American communities? Please take my survey and let me know."

In another tweet posted at 18:09 UTC on the same day, Lawler criticized a salary increase for New York's Commissioner of Education amidst educational performance concerns. He stated: "The Commissioner of Education in New York is getting a $155k raise while our 8th graders are at or below the national average in reading, math, writing, and science - baffling and unacceptable."
