Dutchess County announces winter programming schedule with various activities

Residents of Dutchess County have a variety of winter activities to look forward to, courtesy of the county's parks department. The lineup includes returning favorites such as indoor archery and painting classes for adults. Registration for these programs begins on Thursday, January 2nd, through the website Dutchessny.gov/parks.

The Winter Naturalist Program Schedule kicks off with Weekend Public Archery sessions starting Saturday, January 11 at Bowdoin Park. These sessions are held in the community auditorium and consist of five classes on Saturdays. They cater to individuals aged nine and up, regardless of their archery experience level. Each session lasts an hour and covers basic hands-on archery skills along with bow and arrow safety instructions. The cost is $70 per person for all five classes, including equipment use. Each time slot is limited to 12 participants.

Scheduled dates for the archery sessions are:

- Saturday, January 11

- Saturday, January 25

- Saturday, February 8

- Saturday, February 22

- Saturday, March 8

Time slots available are:

- 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

- 10 - 11 a.m.

- 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

- 2 - 3 p.m.

- 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Adult Park Palette Art Series offers learn-to-paint sessions suitable for adults of all skill levels at Bowdoin Park’s Maple Knoll Lodge from 6 to 7:30 p.m., priced at $12 per class including supplies. These art classes also require registration due to limited space for only twelve participants per session.

Art class dates include:

- Tuesday, January 21st

- Tuesday, February 18th

- Monday, March 3rd
