The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced the completion of a bridge replacement on Old State Route 22 (CR-6) in the Town of Dover. The structure is now open to traffic.

Project work, which began in the spring, included replacing the bridge over the Swamp River between Jordyn Lane and Sherman Hill Road with a new, wider bridge. The updated structure features four-foot shoulders and wider travel lanes to match the adjacent roadway. Additionally, the bridge was raised approximately three feet to mitigate flooding risks and potential damage due to increasingly intense storms. The project was completed on time and within budget.

This section of Old State Route 22 sees an average of approximately 779 vehicles per day.
