On April 30, Lawler addressed an environmental initiative, “The PFAS-Free Procurement Act is aimed at reducing harmful chemical exposure by prohibiting the procurement of products containing perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) or perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), commonly known as PFAS. These are chemicals linked to a variety of health issues.”
Later the same day, he participated in a community event. Lawler also shared a personal encounter regarding hostages, saying, “Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Abigail Mor Edan and her family. Abigail was only 3 when she was taken hostage on October 7th. She was released along with 105 women and children late last year. Mike Lawler is a New York native, born in Suffern in 1986, now residing in Pearl River. A graduate of Manhattan College in 2009, he began his political career in the New York State Assembly before moving to the U.S. Congress in 2023.
