Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York’s 17th District, has been actively engaging in various legislative and community activities. On April 30, 2025, he shared insights and updates on initiatives and events through multiple tweets.

On April 30, Lawler addressed an environmental initiative, “The PFAS-Free Procurement Act is aimed at reducing harmful chemical exposure by prohibiting the procurement of products containing perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) or perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), commonly known as PFAS. These are chemicals linked to a variety of health issues.”

Later the same day, he participated in a community event. As he stated, “I was honored to attend and speak at the UJA-Federation and Westchester Jewish Council annual Westchester Government Relations Legislative Breakfast this week. I remain committed to standing with the Jewish community as well as working to combat antisemitism in all its forms and.”

Lawler also shared a personal encounter regarding hostages, saying, “Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Abigail Mor Edan and her family. Abigail was only 3 when she was taken hostage on October 7th. She was released along with 105 women and children late last year. We must continue our efforts to bring every hostage home. #Bringthemhome” This emphasizes his commitment to resolving hostage situations and supporting affected families.

Mike Lawler is a New York native, born in Suffern in 1986, now residing in Pearl River. A graduate of Manhattan College in 2009, he began his political career in the New York State Assembly before moving to the U.S. Congress in 2023.
