Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York’s 17th district since 2023, recently shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. These tweets reflect his appreciation for emergency medical services, transportation workers, and his stance on animal welfare.

On May 19, 2025, Congressman Lawler expressed gratitude towards emergency medical services during EMS Week. He stated: “When you call 911, EMS teams are the first to deliver life-saving care. This EMS Week, I want to thank the paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, ER nurses, doctors, and first responders who serve our communities.”

Later that day, he attended a Transportation Labor Meet & Greet event. He remarked: “Great to stop by the TTD Transportation Labor Meet & Greet and catch up with the folks who keep our country moving. From our Metro-North crews to freight rail workers and transit professionals, transportation workers are essential to daily life in NY-17.”

On May 20, 2025, Congressman Lawler commented on a decision involving high-profile figures such as President Biden and Elon Musk. He tweeted: “Grateful to see @POTUS, @SecDef, and @elonmusk put an end to the inexcusable DOD cat experiments. This abuse of taxpayer dollars and animals never should’ve started.”

Congressman Mike Lawler has been active in politics since serving in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022 before joining Congress in 2023. Born in Suffern in 1986 and currently residing in Pearl River, he holds a BS from Manhattan College.
