Congressman Mike Lawler, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 17th district, has shared several messages on social media addressing military service members and international security concerns.

On May 8, 2025, Congressman Lawler posted a message emphasizing the importance of recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of military service members. He stated, “This month, we honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our military service members, both past and present. Their commitment protects our freedoms and strengthens our nation.”

The following day, May 9, 2025, Congressman Lawler highlighted his participation in an event focused on Iranian drone proliferation. He expressed concerns about Iran’s drones being used to support Russia’s actions in Ukraine. In his post he remarked: “I spoke at an important event hosted by @UANI on the growing threat of Iranian drone proliferation. With Iran’s drones like this Shahed-136 aiding Russia’s assault on Ukraine, we must remain vigilant and united in confronting the IRGC and its terror proxies.”

Mike Lawler has been a member of Congress since replacing Mondaire Jones in 2023. Prior to this role, he served in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022. Born in Suffern, New York in 1986 and currently residing in Pearl River, Lawler graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009.
