Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York’s 17th district since 2023, has shared insights on a variety of topics through his recent tweets. As a former member of the New York State Assembly and current U.S. Congressman, Lawler continues to address issues ranging from energy production to legislative measures.
On May 9, 2025, Congressman Lawler discussed domestic energy production in a conversation with Eena Ruffini and Sir Richard Dearlove on the One Decision Podcast. He emphasized the importance of boosting domestic energy capabilities to reduce reliance on imports from countries like Russia. “Spoke to @EenaRuffini and Sir Richard Dearlove on @onedecisionpod about increasing domestic energy production so that our global partners limit purchases from bad actors like Russia.”
Later that day, Lawler addressed the IGO Anti-Boycott Act in another tweet. He defended the legislation as protecting U.S. businesses from foreign political pressures exerted by entities such as the United Nations. “The IGO Anti-Boycott Act is hardly un-American. This bill defends U.S. businesses from being coerced into political boycotts by foreign governments or groups like the U.N.”
In a subsequent post on May 9, Congressman Lawler acknowledged Military Spouse Appreciation Day by honoring the sacrifices made by military spouses. He highlighted their resilience and contributions alongside service members, emphasizing their often-overlooked efforts. “Military Spouse Appreciation Day is a time to honor the love, resilience, and quiet courage of those who stand beside our service members.”
Lawler was born in Suffern, New York in 1986 and currently resides in Pearl River. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009.
