Matt Slater, a member of the New York State Assembly, recently shared updates on his legislative work and community engagement through a series of posts on social media.

On March 15, 2026, Slater announced his appointment to a key budget committee. He wrote, “I’m honored to be appointed by Leader @EdwardRa19 to represent the Assembly Republican Conference on the Economic Development Conference Budget Committee. At a time when families and businesses across New York are facing serious affordability challenges, it’s critical that we”.

In another post dated March 16, 2026, Slater highlighted local campaign activities: “Great turnout at our annual Irish Coffee Night last week! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our re-election campaign, it was one for the books!”

Slater also marked St. Patrick’s Day with a message celebrating community traditions. On March 17, 2026, he posted: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day From parades to traditions, it’s always a great day to celebrate with our incredible community.”

Slater has been active in public service since beginning his career after graduating from Yorktown High School and later earning degrees from St. Anselm College and Marist College. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2022 following his reelection as Yorktown town supervisor in 2021. In addition to legislative duties, he has supported hurricane relief efforts and initiatives honoring veterans and environmental causes. In 2022, he received a Presidential Direct Commission as an officer in the Navy Reserves and is assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 8. Slater resides in Yorktown with his wife and two children.
