Matt Slater, a public official in New York, recently shared updates on his activities and recognitions through several posts on social media. His messages highlighted his engagement with veterans, local residents, and his ongoing legislative efforts.
On November 12, 2025, Slater commemorated Veterans Day by meeting with service members. He wrote, “It was an honor to spend Veterans Day meeting and thanking the incredible men and women who served our nation. We are forever grateful for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms. “
The following day, November 13, 2025, Slater posted about a visit to Heritage Hills where he engaged with constituents on various issues. He stated, “I visited residents in Heritage Hills and had a great discussion about local roads, energy prices, funding for veterans, and community priorities. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and insights. It’s always valuable to hear directly from the people I”.
Later that same day, Slater announced recognition from the Taxpayer Action Network for his work on tax relief initiatives. He wrote: “Honored to be recognized as a 2025 Tax Relief Trailblazer by the Taxpayer Action Network. Delivering real tax relief for New Yorkers has been one of my top priorities. I’m proud to have authored and passed legislation that paved the way for Putnam County’s largest property tax”.
Slater serves as a state assemblyman representing portions of New York State including Putnam County. In recent years he has focused on fiscal policy reforms aimed at reducing property taxes for residents of his district.
