Slater’s career in public service began after being raised in Yorktown and graduating from Yorktown High School. He holds degrees from St. Anselm College (2008) and Marist College (2010), including a Master of Public Administration. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2022 after serving as Yorktown town supervisor. In addition to his legislative work, Slater has supported local relief efforts for hurricane victims, veteran honors initiatives, and environmental projects. In 2022 he received a Presidential Direct Commission as an officer in the Navy Reserves. Slater resides with his wife and two children in Yorktown.
