On May 10, 2025, Congressman Lawler recounted his recent town hall meetings held in Rockland and Westchester. He mentioned that the discussions covered various issues including national debt, taxes, antisemitism on college campuses, and Medicaid’s future. In his words: “Over the past two weekends, I hosted town halls in Rockland and Westchester. We talked about everything from the national debt and taxes to the rise in antisemitism on college campuses and the future of Medicaid.”

Later that day, Lawler shared a personal story about his academic journey. Reflecting on Teacher Appreciation Week, he expressed gratitude for educators who recognized his potential despite early challenges. He wrote: “In 2nd grade, my teacher said I should be held back…I’m grateful for the teachers who saw my potential and never gave up on me.”

On May 11, 2025, Congressman Lawler turned his attention to Mother’s Day with an acknowledgment of mothers’ contributions. He tweeted: “Today, we celebrate the quiet sacrifices…To all moms, thank you for being our guide and greatest gift.”

Mike Lawler has been serving in Congress since replacing Mondaire Jones in 2023 after previously serving in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022. Born in Suffern, New York in 1986, he resides in Pearl River.
