Congressman Mike Lawler serves New York’s 17th district, focusing on addressing significant legislative matters and community events. Lawler, formerly a member of the New York State Assembly, has consistently shown dedication to his constituents and various public service initiatives.

On April 4, 2025, Congressman Lawler discussed the challenges faced this week in Washington D.C. “This week wasn’t business as usual in D.C. I breakdown what happened on Tuesday with the Omni-Rule vote and why we must protect the discharge petition. Looking forward to getting back to work next week.” He indicated efforts to defend the discharge petition amidst the unfolding events.

On April 5, Lawler expressed his approval of HHS and the Trump Administration’s actions, stating, “I applaud HHS and the Trump Administration for correcting this mistake and reinstating the Dr. John Howard as the Administrator of the WTC Health Program. We have been working together with @RepGarbarino throughout the week to fix this. Thanks for your leadership Andrew!” The correction regarding Dr. John Howard’s reinstatement received commendations from Lawler.

Later that day, Lawler shared his experience attending the Rockland County YouthFest, remarking, “Had a great time at Rockland County YouthFest, connecting with families and local organizations dedicated to supporting our community! This event highlights the incredible services available to children and youth right here in Rockland.” His participation underscores his engagement with local community initiatives.
