Congressman Mike Lawler, currently serving New York’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of tweets on May 15, 2025, touching upon public service, support for law enforcement, and cultural celebrations. His statements reflect his commitment to constituent service and acknowledgment of community values.
On May 15, 2025, Congressman Lawler expressed that individuals seeking financial gain from the stock market should reconsider their roles in public service. He emphasized that the focus should be on serving constituents rather than personal profit. He stated: “If you’re here to profit off the stock market, you’re in the wrong job. This position is about serving your constituents.”
Later that day, he acknowledged his participation in National Police Week alongside the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO). Lawler conveyed gratitude for those who serve and protect and highlighted his legislative efforts supporting law enforcement and first responders: “Honored to stand with @NAPOpolice during National Police Week. Grateful for all who serve and protect, and proud to have your backs in Congress, from securing funding for Rockland County to fighting for our 9/11 heroes.”
In another post on the same day, Lawler reflected on Lag BaOmer’s significance as a celebration of unity and resilience. He described it as a time when faith can ignite a powerful flame even amidst darkness: “Lag BaOmer reminds us that even in times of darkness, the spark of faith can ignite a powerful flame. Today, we celebrate unity, resilience, and the enduring light of our heritage.”
Lawler has been serving New York’s 17th District since replacing Mondaire Jones in 2023. Before joining Congress, he was part of the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022. Born in Suffern in 1986 and residing in Pearl River, Lawler holds a BS from Manhattan College.
