Later that day, Lawler took to the House Floor to honor Vinny McMahon, as noted in a tweet posted at 23:46 UTC. He described McMahon as “a proud New City native, Army veteran, FDNY Lieutenant, and 9/11 responder.” Lawler expressed his condolences to McMahon’s family and praised his life of service.

The following day, on May 14, 2025, Lawler addressed international trade issues in another tweet. He mentioned ongoing trade deals with the UK and China and expressed eagerness for the administration to secure agreements with India, Japan, and Taiwan. Mike Lawler was born in Suffern, New York in 1986 and currently resides in Pearl River. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009. Before serving in Congress since 2023, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022.
