Congressman Mike Lawler, representing New York’s 17th district, recently shared several updates on social media regarding his activities and initiatives. Lawler, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Mondaire Jones, frequently communicates with his constituents through these platforms.
On May 12, 2025, Congressman Lawler expressed his satisfaction over the return of Edan Alexander. He praised former President Trump for his diplomatic efforts in securing the release of hostages. “I’m thrilled by the news that Edan Alexander has returned home. I applaud President Trump for his tireless diplomatic work in securing the release of these hostages.” He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working towards freeing Americans held hostage abroad.
Later that day, he reported on a local event attended by his team—the opening of Braemar Living, an assisted living facility in Montebello, New York. “My team attended the ribbon cutting of Braemar Living. Braemar Living is a new and gorgeous assisted living facility in Montebello, New York.” He welcomed this new establishment to their district.
On May 13, 2025, Lawler celebrated the achievements of women at an annual ceremony dedicated to recognizing distinguished women leaders within the community. “It was an honor to recognize over 30 incredible women at our Annual Women of Distinction Ceremony.” He emphasized their significant contributions to strengthening communities across Hudson.
Mike Lawler was born in Suffern, New York in 1986 and currently resides in Pearl River. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2021 to 2022 before taking office as a U.S. Congressman.
