The City of Poughkeepsie has announced its preparations for the upcoming winter season and provided guidelines for residents regarding snow removal and safety.

Residents are required to clear sidewalks and fire hydrants within 12 hours after snowfall ends. The city also emphasized the importance of following parking restrictions on Snow Emergency Routes. When a snow emergency is declared, vehicles must be moved off these routes or risk being towed.

The city stated that main streets will be plowed first, with residential streets addressed afterward. “Your cooperation ensures safe and accessible streets and walkways throughout the season,” officials said.

For further questions, residents can contact the City of Poughkeepsie Department of Public Works at 845-451-4111.
