Assemblyman Matt Slater recently honored the Boyd Artesian Well Company Inc. with a New York State Assembly proclamation, celebrating its inclusion in the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry. The ceremony took place on May 30, and members of the Boyd family were present to receive this recognition.
The Boyd Artesian Well Company was nominated by Slater as part of his legislative term’s allowance to nominate up to ten businesses for this distinction. The registry is managed by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation and acknowledges businesses that have operated for at least half a century while contributing significantly to their communities.
Slater praised the company’s longstanding presence in Putnam County and the Hudson Valley, stating, “The Boyd Artesian Well Company has been a pillar of the Putnam County and greater Hudson Valley communities for more than 50 years, spanning five generations.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining trust and reliability over such an extended period. “I’m proud to celebrate this achievement with the Boyd family, and I wish them ongoing success in all their future endeavors,” he added.
Julie Boyd expressed her gratitude towards Slater’s efforts in supporting local businesses: “Assembly Matt Slater has done a great job for the Town of Kent and the 94th Assembly District. It was a great pleasure to work with him and his staff.”
Kent Town Supervisor Jaime McGlasson also commended Boyd Artesian Well Company’s legacy: “Boyd Artesian Well Company has been a trusted name in the town of Kent for generations, and this recognition is a well-deserved celebration.”
